ABB won $ 15 million bid to provide equipment for Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant
The group of electrical and automation ABB has announced for the bid winning of a contracting package worthed $ 15 million from Lilama corporations - the EPC contractor for construction and installation Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant
Accordingly, the Group is headquartered in Zurich (Switzerland) will be in charge of the categories providing outdoor 220kV stations with 12 production line and transformer 240MVA.
Information from this corporation is that, the stations and transformers provided by ABB will be used to balance power in the Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant, to bring efficiency and reliability.
Pham Hung, General Director and Chairman of Lilama Corporation, said: "ABB is the most suitable contractor to provide solutions to balance power in this project".
Vung Ang 1 thermal power plant is the biggist coal running plant in Vietnam, with two design units, each with a capacity of 600MW. The total value of investment for the plants around 1.25 billion, including design, equipment supply and construction of up to 1.17 billion.
As expected, the construction of the first units will be completed in Q3 2012, units of the second quarter 1/2013. The plant operation will contribute to national grid electricity 7.2 billion Kwh per year, about 10% of total output power of the country today.
Vung Ang 1 was launched by the end of 12/2006 for the first time, owned by Lilama. Then, new investor of Petro Vietnam restarted at the end of August 2009.
